Terms and Conditions
Thank you for choosing Clover Dog Design for your dog's grooming needs. To provide a comprehensive and equitable service, it is important that you read and understand the following information. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Dog Health
If your dog has a pre-existing health condition, injury, skin condition or any other problem that may be exacerbated by the grooming process, please advise us upon arrival.
Knots & Matting
Matted coats can cause a variety of skin and health problems for your dog. Matted fur does not dry properly or allow air to circulate to the skin, which may cause hot spots and bacterial or fungal infections. Matted fur also pulls and binds, causing pain, and the skin underneath is often raw and inflamed.
As a result of matting, your dog's hair may need to be shaved extremely short, close to the skin, and may show signs of irritation or sores. As matted hair rests tightly against the skin, the only way to remove it is to use a short blade between the skin and the mats. This may result in nicks or cuts as we have to work so closely to the skin. Although we are very careful, the possibility of injury still exists. An additional charge of $10–$20 will apply.
We do not accept responsibility for any irritation or injury incurred as a result of grooming.
Fleas
Dogs found to have fleas on arrival or during grooming will be treated with a Capstar tablet to eliminate the risk of fleas being transferred to other dogs. An additional $10 charge applies on top of the grooming price.
Please note: a Capstar tablet only kills live fleas on the dog at the time it is taken and is not a permanent flea prevention treatment.
Difficult Behaviour
Not all dogs enjoy being groomed, and some may bite their groomer or grooming utensils. In these circumstances, a muzzle will be used to protect both the groomer and the dog from injury. Only dogs that require extra handling, resulting in the appointment taking longer than scheduled, will incur an additional charge of $10–$20.
Accidents
Dog grooming requires the use of very sharp instruments to cut the hair of dogs that are often moving. On rare occasions, minor cuts to the skin can occur or nails can be cut too short.
Please be reassured that great care is taken with every dog and no dog will ever be deliberately harmed. You will be notified of any injury or incident.
Appointments
Clover Dog Design operates by appointment only. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment will incur a fee of 50% of the grooming service price.
Late Policy
Please arrive on time, as being late may reduce the time available for your dog's grooming and potentially affect the quality of service. If you are more than 15 minutes late without prior notice, we may have to cancel your appointment. A late fee of $10 applies to arrivals more than 15 minutes after the scheduled time.
No Show Policy
If you do not attend your scheduled appointment without prior notice, you will be charged the full amount of the grooming service. We understand that unexpected situations can arise, so please contact us as soon as possible if you need to make changes to avoid this charge.
Agreement
By signing the grooming terms provided through our booking process, you confirm that you understand and agree to Clover Dog Design's terms of service.
